Many readers complain that Jenny Craig is overly expensive. Save your money and stick with better choices like Bistro MD Gourmet Diet or Nutrisystem.

I signed up a couple of years ago for the $399 membership and spent several months in the program. The food is good but expensive; after reaching a certain $ spent, you get a % off discount which helps. I agree with other comments...the counselors were more interested in selling products than providing guidance and encouragement. I began to feel resentful about having to go and weigh in and felt my money was being wasted. So I dropped out of the program for a year. I recently called back to see about restarting my membership and was told that I didn't renew in my off year, so my $399 membership was lost. OH, however, they could give me a deal of $49 restart fee, 10% on all books, equipment, but no discount on food! Well, Jenny Craig..........you've received all of the money you're going to get from me!

I joined Jenny Craig in Richfield, Mn. They were very RUDE and were trying to push me to buy more items... over 2 hours I spent listening to Karen the director pushing the $399 membership..
I REFUSED and stuck with my trial period. I think she mislead me on alot of things...not going back. Jenny Craig is a waste of money & time.

Thanks for all the great advice. Been trying to decide between Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem. You helped me make up my mind. I wanted the personal help from Jenny Craig, but well I guess that's out!
